Gratuity fund: EUR 70 in cash will be needed for the local service and gratuity fund. It will normally be collected by Shannon (our co-host) upon arrival, and Alessandra will take care of distributing the gratuities to the local staff throughout the week.If you need to stop at an ATM after arriving, no problem. Alessandra or Shannon will be happy to help. 

Meals: Estimated total food expenses for meals not included in the tour: approximately EUR 175 per person for the week, depending on individual choices. Drinks are not included, unless specifically mentioned in the itinerary, but can be paid for upon consumption

Local city or tourist taxes are not included and are set by local authorities. In Sorrento, these are currently €3 per person per night and are paid directly to the hotel.

Day 2  -  Sept 13 (Sunday), Capri Island Guided Experience

• Breakfast and transfer to the port where we will board the ferry. We will  take the free shuttle from the  hotel to  downtown, then we will walk to the Marina (several steps  down will be required  to reach the port)
• Included Ferry from the mainland to Capri (and return) -  Tentative departure Ferry at 10:45 am
• Included Full day guided visit of Capri with our own  licensed local guide 
• Optional Scenic boat ride around the island and stop at Blue grotto (weather permitting - (added cost of EUR 25 pp, not included)
• Included Transportation on the island to visit Marina grande,  Capri and Anacapri.
• Included - Chose between 2 options: Guided  Visit to Villa San Michele with entrance tickets or panoramic chairlift to the top

Day 3 -  Sept 14 (Monday), Eno-gastronomic Experience in Sorrento with Cooking class

Day 4 -  Sept 15,  (OPTIONAL) Hike the Path of the Gods 

Optional excursion: Guests may choose to hike the Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods) this morning. This is a moderate hike with uneven terrain and some exposed sections. Good hiking or walking shoes are essential.  The hike starts in Bomerano and ends in Nocelle.

For those interested, Alessandra will coordinate the following:

• A private driver will pick you up at Hotel Cristina at 7:30 or 8:00 AM (time to be confirmed) and transfer you to Bomerano.

• There you will meet your private alpine guide, who will accompany you along the Path of the Gods to Nocelle.

• At the end of the hike, the guide will show how to proceed to Positano, where you will meet Alessandra and the rest of the group.

From Nocelle, you can reach Positano in one of two ways:

• Walk down to Positano via the famous staircase. This descent involves approximately 1,700–1,800 stone steps, followed by about a 10–15 minute walk through Positano to the marina. Allow approximately 35–45 minutes. Please note that the descent can be demanding on the knees. The hikers will meet the rest of the group in Positano. (approximately 1,700–1,800 steps, plus a short walk into town).

• Take the local bus, which runs approximately once per hour (schedule subject to seasonal changes).   Here is the bus stop in Nocelle, and here is their facebook page with a schedule.

Around 8:00 AM, several group hiking tours depart from downtown Sorrento and transfer participants to the Path of the Gods, where a guide leads the hike. At the end of the hike, the tour normally returns participants to Sorrento (approximately 6–7 hours total).

Since these tours are designed to return to Sorrento, you would need to check with the tour provider in advance to see if they can arrange a drop-off in Nocelle instead. If they can, you will be able to meet the rest of our group for our afternoon visit to Positano.

From Nocelle, you can reach Positano in one of two ways:

• Walk down to Positano via the famous staircase (approximately 1,700–1,800 steps, plus a short walk into town).

• Take the local bus, which runs approximately once per hour (schedule subject to seasonal changes).   Here is the bus stop in Nocelle, and here is their facebook page with a schedule.

Day 5 - Sept 16 (Wed.),  Amalfi Coast with Amalfi and Ravello

• Return to Sorrento in the late afternoon

Here  are just few names for pizza, gelato and restaurants. 

O'Parrucchiano La Favorita (map) - beautiful location it is like eating inside a garden with lemon trees and all kinds of plants. 

Frankie’s Bar Pizzeria (map) - Small Pizzeria considered by many to be one of the best pizza places in Italy (for Neapolitan style pizza)

Master Hosts Sorrento (map) - Pizza and Trattoria - good prices

Ahum Sorrento (map) - Authentic pizzeria like where Italians would go, with normal prices and selection of pizza and calzone

Marinato Pizza e Mare (map) Lovely small restaurant for pizza and local eatery at the old port

Amorino Gelato (map) - instagrammable flower shaped gelato cone

Fresco Sorrento (map) small, highly rated ice-cream shop. If you want the lemon sorbet served in a lemon get it here.

Positano can be quite expensive, I have tried to collect some beautiful and somewhat reasonable locations.
