The total cost for the 2 transfers is EUR 590 (note that Arpino (FR) to Sorrento alone is EUR 410 with the second driver and E 500 with the first one).  Since they have already paid 430 eur, they could give the difference of 160 eur directly to the driver.

September 16th - Private transfer from Hotel Santa Caterina Siena to Hotel La Badia Sorrento: EUR 850, Travel time about 7 hours

• Alternatively they could take:  Taxi from accommodation to train station +  train from Siena to Naples (with change in Florence) see here (click on the train tab) about E 150 + Private transfer from Naples to Sorrento E200.  There seems to be a bus as well, it looks like it has a direct solution. I have no experience with that but it has 2 stars on trustpilot. Unfortunately trains are also not 100% reliable as there can be delays (this definitely happens), strikes (very rarely but not impossible) and the AC will not be to US standards at best. Just need to have their expectations ready. I have used the trains a lot in Italy.

• They could definitely do trains all the way to Sorrento but there are changes , some are in different locations and they need to make sure to choose trains with  ample time between changes due to possible delays.
