You will discover a fascinating story of the longest everrunning independent Republic in the history of the World. Learn about the Venetians unique form of government, the role of the Doge, the notorious Council of Ten, created to maintain the security of the State. Not to mention the notorious torture chambers and prisons reserved for enemies of the state. And the fabulous works of art adorning the Doge's Palace. At the end return to the hotel on your own. In the morning meet your English speaking guide for a 3-hour shared walking tour of the city. You will see the medieval Castelvecchio and the Scaligero Bridge, the beautiful Piazza delle Erbe where you'll admire the frescoes of the elegant palaces, the local market and the beautiful Torre dei Lamberti. Finally you will reach the famous Arena for 30-minute tour with priority tickets. Walk under the old marble arcades and listen to stories of gladiators and of the ancient Roman games that used to take place here. At the end return to the hotel. Rest of the day and meals at leisure. 

In the morning reach the meeting point and get ready to enjoy a shared tour in the Tuscan countryside. The first stop of the tour will be the town of San Gimignano, a magnificent example of a medieval urban center and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you will have time to freely visit the village and its beautiful squares, palaces, churches and towers. You will then continue to Siena, where an official guide will take you through the historic center and tell you about the architectural styles of the Cathedral and the Palazzo Comunale in Piazza del Campo, where the famous Palio race takes place. After a typical Tuscan lunch in Piazza del Campo, you will head to the wonderful fortress of Monteriggioni, a small medieval village crossed by the famous Via Francigena. At the end you will head back to Florence and return on your own to the hotel. Dinner at leisure. 

In the morning reach the meeting point for your shared Ancient Rome tour. Following your guide you will retrace the history of the empire from its birth in 753 BC, telling you about the clashes between gladiators that took place in the Colosseum and the exciting events related to the kingdoms of Caesar and Nero. After a break to catch your breath, you'll head to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel where you'll soak up the magic and discover what makes these sites so special.
