IMPORTANT TRAVEL TIME INSTRUCTIONS

1. Phone Activation: Ensure your phone is active and ready for use at the time of pick-up.

2. WhatsApp: If you're not familiar with WhatsApp, take a moment to learn how to use it. This app allows you to make calls to any contact as long as you have an internet connection. Be sure to include the correct country code when entering phone numbers (e.g., +39 for Italy), as noted in your tour details.

3. Pick-up Location: To find your designated pick-up point, ask the ship’s personnel for directions to the area where independently booked private tours gather. Your guide or driver will be there with a sign displaying your name.

4. Tipping: In Europe and the Mediterranean region, tipping is appreciated but not as essential as it is in the US, primarily because workers typically earn a living wage. This means your tip isn't compensating for inadequate pay. However, tips are warmly received, and for a job well done, a 10% tip is customary. If a guide receives no tip, it sends the message that their service was not appreciated.

Valid for groups of 7 to 14 people. A group of 7 is ideal for convenience, as it allows everyone to travel together in a single van for the taxi transfers to the train station and share that cost.

Itinerary:

Your expert guide will stay with you all day, handling all the details and transfers to ensure a smooth, stress-free tour. You'll meet Donatella for a 6-7 hour visit to Cinque Terre, a breathtaking group of five fishing villages along a stunning coastline. During the tour, you'll explore three of the most picturesque villages, accessible by a 30-minute train ride from La Spezia.

• Begin with Ease:

  • Take the shuttle bus from your ship to the cruise terminal building (a 5-minute ride). Donatella will be awaiting for you at the cruise terminal holding a sign with the name "Iris German group".

  • A quick taxi ride (approx. EUR 15) will bring you to La Spezia train station. Donatella will assist you with the purchase of the train tickets  with a simple credit card purchase on the spot.

• Explore the Stunning Villages: Hop on the train to Cinque Terre National Park, where you’ll visit three of the most picturesque villages: Manarola, famous for its postcard-perfect views; Vernazza, with its colorful harbor and hidden gems; and Monterosso, where the beach beckons and the scent of freshly baked focaccia fills the air.

• Delight Your Taste Buds: Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to savor local delicacies, from handmade pesto to seafood specialties and wine tastings, based on your preferences. Please note that the cost of these consumptions is not included in the tour price.

• Return in Comfort: In the afternoon, your train ride will take you back to La Spezia, followed by a seamless taxi transfer to your ship, allowing you to unwind and reflect on the stunning sights you’ve just experienced.

EUR 625 up to 4 pax. For  5 to 7 pax add an additional EUR 50 payable directly in cash to the driver, or EUR 80 for 8 passengers. Note that for 8 people, two individuals will need to sit next to the driver, which provides the best view but will not be as comfortable.

Set out from Civitavecchia Port on a journey to two of Italy's hidden gems: Orvieto and Civita di Bagnoregio. First, visit the ancient hilltop town of Orvieto, renowned for its stunning Gothic cathedral and breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. Explore its charming streets, underground caves, and rich history.

Next, travel to the picturesque village of Civita di Bagnoregio, often called the "Dying Town" due to its dramatic, isolated location atop a crumbling cliff. Wander through its narrow alleys, soak in the unique atmosphere, and enjoy the stunning views before returning to Civitavecchia. This tour offers a captivating blend of history, architecture, and natural beauty.

Reaching Civita di Bagnoregio, the "Dying Town," is an adventure in itself. Visitors must traverse a picturesque pedestrian bridge (see picture here) that spans a deep gorge, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. While the walk is not overly strenuous (see detailed video here), it can be challenging for some, especially those with mobility issues. Depending on the situation at the moment, your driver may even be able to take you right to the bridge entrance, although this is not guaranteed. For those who prefer not to embark on the walk, the driver can take them to a beautiful vista where they can relax and enjoy the view. Once you arrive in Civita, the breathtaking architecture and unique atmosphere make the journey well worth it. Those accessing the bridge will have to purchase a €5 ticket (not included in the tour price) for access to the bridge at the entrance. 

Nov 14 - Disembarkation Tour: Transfer to Rome with Hotel Drop-Off

• Nov 14 disembark and transfer tour to Rome with drop off at hotel in Rome  EUR 600  up to 4 pax. For  5 to 7 pax add EUR 50 or more if the hotels are in different areas. Due to luggage consideration going up to 6 people may be the safest choice. Giuliano has carried 8 people with luggage many times but we need to make sure everybody has reasonable size luggage.

• Nov 15 Private Guided Tour of Sistine Chapel + Vatican Museums + Basilica of St Peter (3 hours)   EUR 435 including  skip the lines tickets. Rate Note: Should there be more than 2 people the price  will increase only by the skip the lines tickets amount for each additional person up to 10 pax.
